CHLOE BORDER 2.jpg

WELCOME

My name is Chloe, and I am here with divine purpose. A generational devotion to teaching and the transformative magic of love has brought me to work in holding space for self-healing as a Reiki practitioner. To me, Reiki extends beyond, reconnecting me to an ancient practice that I have held sacred for lifetimes. In the complex times that we are currently living in, it fills me with joy to see people returning to their roots, and beginning the awakening process that can be such a catalyst to true healing and connection.

The ReiQueer is fundamental, as it nourishes the connection between energy work, and the queer community. As a Black, Queer woman, I have seen the vital importance for spaces that put Queer, Black, Indigenous, People of Color at the forefront. Ancestrally, this offers a beautiful way to connect with those that came before us, while also allowing the benefit of practicing energetic self care; an essential in today’s social-political climate. Join me as I journey through the human maze, and as we continue to recover and expand parts of ourselves lost through trauma and egoic socialization. My commitment to The ReiQueer is the same commitment to myself: to show up, hold space, give love and take no shit.

FAQ

Your Questions, Answered

What is Reiki?

Reiki is a healing modality that uses light touch to encourage sacred energy flow in the body, and combined with intention, aids our natural abilities for healing and release. Reiki has many lineages, with the Usui Reiki lineage taught originally by Dr. Mikao Usui in Japan.

Directly interpreted, “rei” and “ki” translate to “divine energy”. Reiki can be deeply beneficial to the many layers of the body including the physical, the emotional and the energetic.

What Should I Expect from a Session?

You may find working with intention to be more valuable than working with expectation. What would you like support in? Maintaining open to the experience is key, as well as the understanding that there is no way to have a “bad” Reiki session. We are here to hold divine space for you as part of your journey! How magical.

In the beginning of your session, we connect briefly to discuss your intentions or ask any questions. From then, you’ll hear me give thanks to the ancestors, Indigenous community and Reiki lineage. Afterwards we’ll practice some mindful breathing, and I’ll lead you into a gentle meditation before we begin. An average session takes about 1 hour.

How Do I Prepare for a Session?

In essence, there is not much that you need to do prior to receiving treatment. In the days before your Reiki session, it may be helpful to connect with yourself about your intentions, or where you’d like some support. It’s also encouraged to remain open about your session, as there is usually no adequate way to predict what your individual experience may be.

Drinking plenty of water before and after your session is definitely recommended, as well as eating something yummy. Engaging in your favorite self-care practices is also a great way to get grounded both before and after your session. Some clients have experienced temperature fluctuations, so you may want to bring an extra sweater.

What if I’m Curious About Reiki, but Not Quite Sure if it’s For Me?

Your consent and comfort is at the core of this practice. If you’re interested in learning more about Reiki, or discussing the details of a session, you can always book a free 20 minute consultation via telephone or video chat. I’d love to connect with you!
